your audience?
Evaluation Task 5
How did you attract/interest your target audience?
• Blonde female character (Hollywood stereotype).
• Use of blood.
• The ways we built up suspense.
• Leaving them to question, solving the mystery.
• Older audience, they can solve things and
understand. They wont get confused.
• Sound starts at the beginning to show something
isn’t right and then at the very end when we show
the girl is dead.
• Type of house (country house, big fields) and
family dog.
ELEMENTS WE USED TO CREATE
SUSPENSE TO ATTRACT OUR
AUDIENCE
• Puddle of blood.
• Beads scattered on the floor.
• Bowl of muesli.
• Footprint.
LOCATION AND SETTING
• Big country house, shows she is
privileged.
• Stereotypical Hollywood family, big
house, privileged and pretty girl.
• Location makes you think that there wont
be a murder.
• For example in ‘The Lovely Bones’. Have
a big house and nice neighbourhood.
CHARACTER
• The female character is young, appeals to the
audience because they can relate to her and know
how it feels to be that age.
• She is middle class, which you can tell by the
size/interior of her house, her costume and makeup.
• Due to the fact that we are AS level media students,
our choice of actors was limited, therefore we used
a student.
• The dog is a country dog, that you would find in a
middle class family.
• The dog has a well groomed appearance and is
obedient.
