Preliminary Evaluation Task

         Jack Hynes
Planning
• Everything below was essentially planning or planned. We had to plan our
research procedures before we executed them (Separate research, return &
evaluate), we had to plan the framework to set our ideas in to (A Patient & A
    Doctor).
Research
• We didn’t do all that much research throughout the process of recording and
editing, mainly we only researched through the design i.e the connotation &
denotations of our characters. That said, whilst we had done this we were
restricted to our environment and needed to utilise what we could of our area (the
college) as we weren’t allowed to go elsewhere. Whilst researching we concurred
that the most efficient procedure would be to go and do separate research and
    then come together and evaluate
on the whole and see who’s was
    better/more useful to the task.

• This is our Character Connotations.
Ideas
• We had decided the most efficient style of gaining and deciphering through which
was most feasible, we all came up with our own and then brought them together
and saw which were best, editing them with eachother over the course of
    recording and then editing.

• This is everybody in our groups separate scripts
in which we decided that Liban’s was the most
enticing and we went with that, but as we
Progressed slowly edited to fit a story line we
could work with within the confides of the
college centre.
Equipment
• Throughout the Recording process mainly we used equipment to get the footage
we needed. We used equipment to get different types of:

• Sound,
• Camera shots/Video/Footage
• Editing.
Camera/Video/Footage
• The equipment we used to collect our Camera
footage was a Panasonic SD 900 Camcorder.

• We used a variety of Camera Shots with this camera
in the process of recording. One of these would be the
    Close-Up.

• The Close-Up is a picture zoomed in on a particular point of
interest within the scene, showing only that thing with
    minimal background usually.
Sound
• The equipment we used to capture Sound were a
Microphone & Boom Pole (Both from Rode)

• We recorded all the sounds within our video with this
equipment, one as an example would be Ambient Sound.

• Ambient Sound, better known as Background sound/noise, is sound in which fits the
background of a scene naturally. The example I have used from our video is the first
scene in which is in a public place, in which naturally there would be the sound of
people walking talking and generally just sounds of movement and conversation. We
capture this as shown within the snippet of audio we cut below.
Editing
• We used ‘Final Cut Pro’ to edit our work after
we had collected all the footage. This was where
we were able to add Cuts, Dissolves, Wipes and
other styles of Transitions and general effects to
    make our finished product.

• Below is an example of the Wipe transition used within the final product.
