- 2. • Blogger - Throughout the process I have used blogger to upload my progress and research about the magazine. I have had previous blogs on blogger so I was familiar with how it worked but I have learnt things such as how to embed links and how to make my blog look as good as I can yet also very minimalistic. • iPhoto - This was an unfamiliar tool for me, I have used it to export photos from my phone but I have never used it as an editing tool. I used iPhoto to edit my photos on my magazine. I used it to either brighten or darken the photo as some needed to be brighter to be seen clearly.
- 3. • iMovie - I have never used iMovie before so this was a new and very successful experience. I used it to edit one of my music magazine analysis’. I learnt how to add images and text to a movie, also to put a song underneath and change the volume via iMovie. • YouTube - YouTube is a familiar streaming website with me. I have viewed videos but never uploaded but now I have. I uploaded my analysis and my question 2 evaluation onto YouTube so I could embed it into my blog to be able to view without having to leave the blog.
- 4. • Photoshop - I was not too familiar with this because I had never done media studies but I picked up the skills of photoshop very quickly and I found it extremely useful as I was able to edit my photos and design my whole product (except the double page spread) on this brilliant app. • Indesign - I used this whilst constructing my double page spread. I had never before used indesign so it was completely new to me however after a few lessons figuring out how to use it I finally got the hang of it and found it wonderful to use to construct my double page spread. It is what many companies who produce magazines use so it was very professional and I feel it made my work look very modern and professional.
- 5. • I used a tool called flip snack to upload my reader profile research on NME and Q magazine and also my own reader profile. This was a very unique way of showing work and it is interactive which means that it is entertaining rather than just a word doucment. I used slideshare to share my powerpoints for my research tasks. This website is useful as you are able to embed the powerpoint onto the blog so instead of clicking a link and opening a different page you are able to view the powerpoint directly from the blog.
