Sylvia Plath, a renowned poet, was born on October 27, 1932 in Boston,
Massachusetts. Her father, Otto Plath was born in Germany and was a professor
of biology at Boston University. Plath s mother, a student of Otto Plath, was
named Aurelia Schober Plath (Two Views on Plath s Life and Career). Her father
died on November 5, 1940 due to untreated diabetes and infection when Plath was
eight years old. This experience haunt[ed] her for life and [lead] her to create most
of her poetry. Plath was brought up in a Christian home, but lost all faith after her
father s passing (Sylvia Plath Biography). As a child, one of Plath s poems was
published in the Boston Herald s children s section. By the age of eleven, she

II. METHODOLOGY
The methodology that we have used in this study is as follows.During the course,
students are evaluated by means of a multiple choice testing that is an effective
assessment technique. Before the final exam date, all students are requested to self
grade. Students propose the mark/grade that they think they should get for the course.
Then, the instructor accepts or declines the proposed mark of each student as the final
mark for the course. This way, only students whose score was declined by the
instructor will have to sit the final exam. Finally, we try to predict the instructor s
decision of accepting or declining the score proposed by students.
We have used two different (initial and new) data mining approaches (see Figure 1).

The initial approach uses three numerical variables: the scoreobtained by students in
the course s activities, the proposed scores by students and the difference between
these two previous scores.
Then, it applies traditional classification algorithms for predicting the instructor s
decision about whether to accept the proposed students scores (YES) or not (NO).
The new approach uses the three previous variables as well as a self evaluation

Going into the play, I was expecting it to be a kid s show, which kids would enjoy the musical but may not quite get all of the jokes. The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee was more aimed at adults. Every adult that was watching the play, myself included, was rolling out of their seats. The play managed to be engaging and funny throughout the entire play. Within the play, each actor has a different background story. Each actor in the play, plays a big role and stood out in their own specific way. The Concert began at 7:30 p.m., and concluded at 8:30 p.m. When the concert was just beginning I was unsure of what to expect, besides the obviousness of a piano portion to the whole event, because there was one sitting in the center of the stage. The concertthat I attended seemed to focus primarily on the romantic period of music. Though it may have gone into a different genre at some point it wasn t that noticeable to me. The first work performed for the audience was done so with a violin, a piano, and a woman singing. It seemed to me that this was one work with a very slow, somber tone. The woman piano and the violin worked extremely well together to compliment the woman s singing voice. Keeping a more upbeat tone, as well as catching my attention more often than the other one. Which comes down to a more personal preference in terms of what I tend to be more interested in. This movement was done with a cello, violin, and a piano. It also seemed to be the loudest as well as one of the faster paced ones. My personal favorite movement of them all was the second one performed on stage. This one was also a more upbeat movement. This uniquely enjoyable work involved two on piano, one to turn the pages. It also included a trombone, as well as someone on the flute. The movement itself seemed to go for more of an uplifting tone, as opposed to the more somber quality that the first work had going for it.
