Facebook Privacy Policy 
• The Facebook privacy policy is about a 5500 word document which 
discusses each and every aspect of security of data and the manner in 
which your personal information shall be used by Facebook. 
• To keep it short, the policy has been designed to make life easy for you 
and allow you to decide who you want to share your personal information 
with. 
• It also ensures that you can keep a check on the information that you 
share with Facebook-enhanced applications and websites. 
• It is important for us to know that Facebook is a free service supported 
primarily by advertising. Facebook tries to ensure that the data it shares 
with the advertisers is with your consent. It also allows the advertisers to 
use this data to show you related ads. (Disabled on NAI website)
Facebook Privacy Policy 
• Facebook uses services of TRUSTe Privacy Seal Program, an independent 
organization focused on reviewing privacy and security policies and 
practices, and adheres to standards set by it. Facebook also adheres to the 
Safe Harbor framework developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce 
and the European Union. 
• Facebook does not allow children under the age of 13 to register as users 
and does not store any information provided by them. 
• Throughout the document Facebook promises not to share any of your 
personal information including Photos, videos, relationship status, friends 
etc. without your consent. However information within the public domain 
such as name, age and gender might be shared with advertisers and 
Application vendors for commercial purpose.
Privacy Settings
Privacy Settings 
• To make the page public or private i.e. the page visibility. Usually all 
business pages should have page visibility and is made invisible only when 
taking down the page for a temporary period of time or to completely 
disable views for your business on the page. Generally it is advisable to 
make your page public. 
• To allow everyone to post on your page i.e. posting ability of others. It is a 
good idea to restrict everyone from posting on your timeline to limit the 
number of posts on the page. 
• Choose to allow posts from others to be visible on your page timeline - 
Post visibility. This is helpful in order to know the new updates and posts.
Moderation of Posts and Comments 
Several levels of moderation possible on FB: 
• Choose whether people are allowed to 
post on page’s timeline 
• The content people post 
• Review other’s content before posting 
• Even block certain keywords 
• Or allow Facebook to do it: Profanity Filter 
• Ban or remove people from page 
• Delete a negative comment, or mark as spam
