Extended six-week boot camp onboarding with a
choice
o is a relatively simple and often one day “form
filling out” exercise
o Its approach is unique because it is extended over
an industry-leading six weeks.
o during that time, rather than watching videos and
hearing lectures, employees actually work on
teams that spend their time working on multiple
real projects
o to demonstrate its trust in new hires, during this
time boot campers have full access to the
complete computer code behind Facebook
o the most powerful part of the onboarding is
that at the end of the process, each employee is
asked, “Which team and project within
Facebook would you like to join?
o This is powerful because when you apply for a
job, you really have no way of knowing which
team or project would be a best fit for you
ITZaffect on organizational productivity
The employees are more used to the working
of the company
 since it is the employees who decide the
groups in which they need to work with it helps
in mutual understanding between them
thereby increasing the productivity
 Scope - Boot camp is really a very unique
program that’s incredibly effective in getting
the employees on board very quickly and
giving them an opportunity to learn
common tools and framework. Giving new
recruits a very safe way to actually do—we
think learning by doing is actually the best
way to learn anything

freedom for the employees to decide the group
they need to work in.
