(on behalf of Sarah Jones)
Provide recommendations on the implementation of
FAIR, including corresponding requirements for services,
in order to foster cross-disciplinary interoperability
HOW
1. Data standards & sharing agreements
2. Upscale best-practice solutions
3. EOSC Interoperability Framework
4. Identify service requirements for FAIR
5. Persistent Identifier Policy for EOSC
6. Frameworks to assess FAIR data and
certify services that enable FAIR
7. Converge towards globally-accepted frameworks
WHAT WHY
Q1 2020
2020 Annual
FAIR work plan
Q4 2019
PID policy defined
Outline metrics for
FAIR data & service

Key deliverables
• Metrics for FAIR data and repository certification
• First version due Q4 2019 and final version Q4 2020
• Persistent Identifier policy
• With Architecture
• First version due Q4 2019 and final version Q4 2020
• EOSC Interoperability Framework
• Using FAIR practice outcomes as an input
• With Architecture and Rules of Participation
• Due Q3 of 2020
Three key questions for you
• What activities and outputs do you have that are relevant to
our remit? (i.e. FAIR practice, standards for interoperability,
PIDs, FAIR metrics and service certification)
• What does an EOSC interoperability framework mean to
you? i.e. what does it comprise, who should own it, how
should it be governed/updated/implemented?
• How do you want us to engage with you and your
stakeholder communities (research disciplines, institutions,
funders, etc.) to get feedback on proposals?
Thanks for listening!
Questions? Suggestions?
