Free Trade policy implies absence of any artificial restrictions on or obstacle to the freedom of trade of a country with other nations.

Protection • Protection is the policy of the encouraging home industries by paying bounties (or giving subsidies) to domestic producers or more usually by imposing customs duties on foreign products. • The term protection refers to a policy whereby domestic industries are to be protected from foreign competition. • The aim is to impose restrictions on the imports of low – priced products in order to encourage domestic industries, through imposing duties which raise the price of foreign goods by more than the price of domestic goods.
