Google's new Fuchsia OS is not intended to replace Android directly, but may replace the Linux kernel underneath Android in the future. While Fuchsia's goals are detailed further at Google I/O 2019, it is not meant to replace existing OSes like Android, which holds a large majority of the mobile market share, or iOS. Some manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei may opt to use Fuchsia in future devices instead of continuing to rely solely on Android.
