Games for Change is a non-profit that facilitates the creation and distribution of social impact games. Since 2004, they have convened stakeholders, highlighted best practices, incubated games, and helped direct investment into new projects. They host an annual festival attended by over 10,000 people, as well as events at the Game Developers Conference. Their lab has helped invest $8 million into new game projects focused on issues like empowering youth and policymaking. Games for Change also curates a collection of over 135 games, puts on exhibitions, and maintains a repository of expertise reaching over 500,000 practitioners yearly. Major funders include the MacArthur Foundation.
