This lesson plan aims to teach students about geometric shapes, visual arts elements, and safe/unsafe practices. Students will identify geometric shapes in Spanish and English. They will create photographs using visual arts principles and elements to identify shapes. Students will also recognize safe and unsafe practices in homes, schools, and communities. To demonstrate their understanding, students will create a multimedia presentation identifying shapes through photos and demonstrating safe and unsafe practices.

- #6: A circle is round. All of the points on a circle are the same distance from the center. In Spanish circle is called cercle. This traffic sign is used to show people that the are not allowed to go through or come into the area.
- #7: A triangle is a geometric figure that has three sides. In Spanish triangle is called triangle. This traffic sign is used to have cars yield to traffic.
- #8: A square has four, equally long sides which are at right angles to each other. In Spanish square is called carré. This traffic sign is used to display that a hospital is near by.
- #9: A rectangle is a four-sided figure whose sides are at right angles to each other. In Spanish, a rectangle is called rectangle. This traffic sign is used to have people keep out or not invade the specific area.
- #10: A trapezoid is a four-sided figure with exactly two parallel sides. In Spanish a trapezoid is called trapeziode. This traffic sign is displaying that drivers are not allowed to park in that area.
- #11: A diamond is a four-sided figure whose sides are all the same length. In Spanish a diamond is called diamante. This traffic sign is showing a person walking, meaning that there is a walk way for people to walk and drivers should be cautious of them.
- #12: This traffic sign is presenting that the area behind it has no way other. Drivers can enter, however can not across through.
- #13: An octagon is an eight-sided figure. Stop signs are octagons. In Spanish an octagon is called octagone. This traffic sign is showing a big print of the word STOP; meaning that people should halt, or stay in one place before crossings into the intersection.
