  • The newhigh-end phablet of the Korean giant Samsung has been unveiled on August 23rd during Samsung Unpacked.   DESIGN. • The GalaxyNote has a bright AMOLED display of 6,3’’ with incurved edges, • « Infinity Display » fills the majority of the front side. • The smartphone resists to water and dust (IP68 norm). • The phablet will be available in four colours : black, dark blue, orchid grey and gold.

  PERFORMANCE. • The phabletincludes a Samsung Exynos 8895 processor (Europe and Asia) coupled with 6 Go of RAM. • Samsung presents a 3300 mAh battery (3500 mAh in the Galaxy Note 7) thus minimising risks • Its internal storage of 64 Go is extensible by using an SD card. • The Galaxy Note 8 runs under Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It will be possible to take advantage of the Android 8 Oreo upgrade.

  CAMERA. • Samsung hasequipped its smartphone with a dual camera, each one presenting a 12 Mpx definition. You can take two pictures at once allowing you to choose the one you want to keep. • One is a telephoto lens with an optical zoom (x2) while the other is a wide-angle lens. • The Galaxy Note 8 has also a 8 Mpx face camera.

  SECURITY. « Phone unlocking» is possible with the use of a fingerprint scanner, an iris scanner and facial recognition.

  BIXBY. • Galaxy Note8 includes Bixby, Samsung’s intelligent assistant. Users will then be able to control their phone using their voice. • At the moment, it is only available in English and Korean.
• 8.
  LIVE MESSAGES. The LiveMessage functionality allows to hand-write messages. The user sees the drawing or his hand- written message transformed into GIF .
• 9.
  APP PAIRING. Samsung introducesthe App Pairing functionality allowing to launch two applications simultaneously by clicking on a shortcut created by the user. Both apps will occupy half of the screen.
• 10.
  SAMSUNG DeX STATION. Dockingstation DeX Station will transform Galaxy Note 8 into a computer.
