Ethnically Diverse: Trend
 Society in general becomes increasingly
diverse every year. “Browning of
America” has become a sign of the
diversity that is sweeping through the
United States.
 It is the responsibility of the education
system to teach Social Awareness and
equip students with the tools to handle
the growing diversity.
Technology: Trend
 Technology serves as the largest tool
interconnecting every facet of life. This
tools allows developing countries to
expand ideas by collaborating with from
every corner of the Earth.
 We see a large movement in our
Education system today to help our
students develop technology skills to
compete in the 21st century global
workforce.
Cultural Competency Teaching:
Challenge
 As our population in the United States
becomes more and more diverse; It is very
difficult for teachers to develop skills to
meet the needs of the growing diverse
population.
 Cultural competency is essential in helping
students reach their full potential. Teachers
must understand specific aspects of their
students to foster success. The increase of
diversity in schools will present teachers a
challenge to understand each of their
students cultural in action.
Common Core: Issue
 Districts around the country start to make
the move to the new standards, changes
are on the horizon. One change includes
condensing the curriculum to help students
develop a deeper understanding of specific
concepts
 Common Core will be used a measuring
tool in comparing how the U.S.A rates
among other countries. Common Core
Standards align with other Countries
standards, thus again giving us a idea
where we actually rank.
Poverty: Issue
 Providing students with an EQUAL
opportunity to a valuable education. This
includes access to teachers, resources,
and facilities.
 Students living in poverty are presented
with barriers that will impact their chances
of competing in the globalized world. Their
access, or lack there of, to high qualified
teachers, technology and adequate
facilities all play an important role in
preparing them for the globalized world.
