1. MS Word
• Microsoft Word is word processing software.
• It is developed by Microsoft and is part of Microsoft Office
Suite.
• It enables you to create, edit and save professional documents
like letters and reports.
8. Undo and Redo
• Undo: Word keeps track of most tasks you perform until you
exit. Tasks such as formatting and deleting, can be undone.
From the Quick Access Toolbar click the button ( ), or use
the shortcut key Ctrl Z.

• Redo: If you undo too far, or you change your mind about the
undoing of that task, Word allows you to Redo. On the Quick
Access Toolbar you will find the redo button ( ), or use the
shortcut key Ctrl Y

9. Cut, Copy and Paste
• Cut, Copy and Paste are clipboard features built into
windows. The clipboard is a temporary storage location
where an item is stored for later recall.
• The windows clipboard can only store one item at a time.
17. Inserting Page Number
• To add page numbers to your Word document, switch over to
the “Insert” tab on the Ribbon and then click the “Page
Number” button in the “Header & Footer” section.

• Arrangement of text in an organized manner in the form of rows and
columns is called a table.
• An intersection of a row and column is called cell.
• A row is horizontal arrangement of data
• A column is the vertical arrangement of data.

1. INSERT Table Click the drop down arrow of the Table
button
2. A drop down menu opens on the screen showing a grid and
other options like insert table, draw table and excel
spreadsheet etc.

3. Place the mouse pointer on the grid and drag it to select
the number of rows and columns you want.
4. The table with selected number of rows and columns is
displayed in the word document.

22. Entering Data in a Table
• Place the mouse pointer on the cell in table where you want
to enter data. Type the data that you want to enter in that
cell.
• To move to another cell in a row, just click the Tab key in the
keyboard.
• Use Shift+Tab to go to the previous cell.

24. Printing a Document
• Click on the File tab and select the Print option to print your
current document.
• This will display the Print window options, along with a
preview of the document to the right, such as the range of
pages to print and the number of copies to print
• Short Cut CTRL+P
