This presentation introduces Hear by Right and its contribution to ensuring better outcomes for children and young people through their active involvement in issues that affect them that is safe, sound and effective. The Government’s Every Child Matters and related Statutory Guidance and Children Act 2004 all point the way to more joined up assessment of need, commissioning and inspection of services, with children and young people’s participation seen as central to many of these developments, including across Children and Young People’s Trusts and strategic partnerships. “ The DfCS is committed to embedding participation of children and young people in the design, delivery and evaluation of services that affect them at a national, regional and local level.
