- 3. Putting it together Putting a computer together isn’t as complicated as it may seem. Once you screw the motherboard on to the case, you can then attach the CPU, CPU fan, graphics card, and memory directly to the board. Then, screw your hard drive, CD / DVD drive, and power supply into their assigned slots. Once everything is screwed into the case, it is just a matter of plugging everything into the power supply and motherboard. Now you are ready to turn it on and install the operating system.
- 4. The Operating System Once you have everything plugged in you can install the operating system. The operating system basically installs itself, you just have to push the next button a couple of times. Once you have the operating system installed you can now put the motherboard CD in and install the drivers. Once those are installed you are done!
