Tom has switched from using primarily Windows to using primarily MacOS. Some key events in the transition included installing Windows on his first Mac but only using Windows, and then fully switching to MacOS in 2008 when Vista was about to timebomb. He likes aspects of MacOS like its stability, UNIX foundation, and drag and drop installs, but dislikes the cost and some issues with Finder and hardware reliability on his first generation Macbook Pro. Overall he values having choice in being able to run both Mac and Windows applications and operating systems.
