This paper presents a hybrid power compensator (HPC) designed to address power quality issues in electrified railway systems caused by nonlinear loads. The HPC utilizes a back-to-back converter with a shared DC link and employs a hysteresis harmonic current controller for efficient compensation of harmonic currents, power factor correction, and voltage unbalance. Simulation results demonstrate the HPC's effectiveness in enhancing power quality compared to systems without compensation.
