This document presents an improved algorithm, called MGA, for scheduling data transmission in TDMA systems, which allows for efficient preemption of packet transmissions despite setup delays. The authors compare MGA with two other algorithms, demonstrating its superior performance and bounded approximation ratio of ∆+1 in practical scenarios. Experimental results indicate that MGA outperforms existing methods not only theoretically but also in practical implementations, offering a promising tool for optimizing packet routing.
