What is Google Docs?   Set of applications like MS Office   Google Docs in Plain English  
Basic Functions              Document = Word                            Presentation = Power Point               Spreadsheet = Excel                   Forms populate a spreadsheet
Advantages over Office FREE! – nothing to install Files stored online – in “the cloud” Multiple people can edit at the same time

Editor's Notes

  • #4: Google Docs applications are more basic. Toolbars and button functions are similar and familiar
  • #5: Show different invitation options Demonstrate different email accounts
  • #10: Show different invitation options Demonstrate different email accounts While there is a limit to simultaneous editing, people can still view the document. 
  • #13: Adding comments directly into the document your students are working on is a much more immediate feedback mechanism than submitting work and returning it.  The Revision History is a great feature that allows you to see who made certain changes, what they were, and when they were made.  Great for grading or evaluation quality and quantity of contributions in a group project.
