Razor-Lazer Music Transmitter
Designed and Built by Students Eric A. DeCuir Jr. and David Fryauf
Electrical Engineering Overview 10
••Project Goal:Project Goal:
•Transmit stereo music over a laser beam to a remote stereo receiver
••How it works:How it works:
•MP3 player outputs varying electrical signal from mini headphone jack this electrical
signal is converted into amplitude modulated 635nm laser light via an audio transformer
silicon phototransistor converts modulated laser light back into varying electrical
signal transducer (speaker) converts electrical energy back into sound by compressing
the air in front of a moving cone creating what our ear interprets as sound.
