The idea of living in luxurious lap of a smart home is not a far-fetched
dream project. Well, not anymore at least!
And the smartest system in use today is only a tiny fraction of the
countless applications a world full of connected things can accomplish!!

Let us start by visualizing a utopian society where everything was linked to each other

Connected devices in today’s world are being popularly called “Smart Devices”.
Similarly,
… enabling “Every-Thing” around us to connect with each other could let us forge a “Smart World”.
But that isn’t everything in IoT!
The priority is bringing optimal, cost-effective and feasible solutions to people in the most minimal way possible.
And, the IoT technology aims to fuel all major sectors of service and production with such systems!

… or just about any electronic device with ability to connect and to either transmit or receive data make up the “Things” in IoT.

It is actually more important to understand the tiny little components inside these devices that enable them to become an “IoT-
Enabled Thing”.
IoT-enabled things mainly serve two purposes: Supplying any smart system with inputs or carrying out
some output for it. And, to do so, it needs to be equipped with connectivity.

IoT technology stack is really just the numerous technologies used in IoT categorized into broad layers.
The number of layers integral for an IoT Ecosystem to work might add up with time, but there are three
fundamental layers that it operates on:

IoT Gateway
Layer
IoT Platform
Layer

This is the layer where an IoT ecosystem begins; and its accuracy plays a key role in the performance of any
smart system.
It interacts with the physical world through the “Things” in IoT.
The devices in this layer should at least contain the following to be IoT-enabled things:-
✓ Transducers – Sensors or/and Actuators
✓ Device Connectivity – Transmitters, Receivers & Device Operating Software

The pathway or bridge through which the transmitted data flows from layer of ‘things’
to layer of operations.
It is no ordinary bridge though!
Rather, a smart and intelligent gateway housing technologies to aggregate connectivity for things to
communicate while pre-processing their data, translating protocols and ensuring network security.
Edge Computing/Fog computing
Technologies powering digital connectivity with abilities
like high-grade processing and smart analytics

IoT Technology
The IoT platform could be called the control center of a smart system, though it obviously does much more than just
that.
This is where everything actually connects to gain their intelligence!
With cloud storage, smart analytics of big data, machine learning, high-speed messaging and central processing; this
layer integrates a plethora of diverse technologies, clouds, software services and APIs to ensure IoT interoperability,
device virtualization and real-time responses.
It is actually the middleware between input and output in an IoT ecosystem!

☺ And, luckily for us, streaming free media amounts to a huge factor in digital convenience. ☺
Hence, IoT lets us implement inexpensive solutions for such important aspects of the digital world.

premium memberships!

So, how do we do it? Well, just the way Amazon or Tata Sky does it, but we host our own media server instead of depending on
theirs! That way, we can access desired databases to stream media and even modify our services the way we want.
And, with IoT encouraging people to come up with their own smart solutions using this technology, many specially tailored
applications have now come up enabling even a layman to host a media server and stream desired media with the help of add-ons.
This IoT project is just one of the many countless possibilities that showcases the power of IoT to provide cost-effective solutions.

So, the incredible volume of this technology comes with its own set of chaos. And, new procedures, standards
