This document describes a proposed system for automating bus ticket collection using fingerprint scanning. The system aims to improve convenience for passengers and efficiency of revenue collection. An Android app would allow passengers to scan their fingerprint, retrieve their identity and bank details, and pay for their ticket digitally. This would eliminate issues with paper tickets and cash payments. The system would use a fingerprint scanner connected to buses via WiFi to scan passengers' fingerprints and charge fares to bank accounts linked to their biometric identity records. If implemented, it could reduce fraud, save time, and provide a more comfortable ticketing process compared to current manual systems.
