  PLACES THAT YOUCAN VISIT 2.1. ROME Saint Sebastian by Giovanni Bazzi This painting is called Saint Sebastian, and his painter is Giovanni Bazzi. It was painted in the 1576. It's localize at Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence, Italy. The painting is dimensions are 145 cm high and 204 cm wide. The painting was made of oil on canvas. Saint Sebastian appears in the middle of the picture. He is tied on a tree with arrows pinned on his body. And at the top there is an angel that comes to hep the martyr. This picture isn't realist, the style is Renaissance. This painting is very religious. It explains the life of Saint Sebastian martyr. I don't like paintings but I like this because the main character is Saint Sebastian, patron saint of Súria. The Catacombs The Catacombs in Rome are ancient burial places They began in the 2nd century AD and used then to bury Christian's dead. They are very deep and have very important arts like frescos, sculptures and many gratifies dedicated to different saints. The Catacombs of St Sebastian is one of the smallest Christian cemeteries.   The pantheon Pantheon means“the temple of all Gods” in Greek, so it's devoted to the Gods of ancient Rome. It is still preserved and was built in 27 AD by Agrippa. In 80 AD, a fire destroyed it. It was rebuilt, but 30 years later there was another fire. Finally it was rebuilt and preserved for today. The Romans there rebuilt this under emperor Hadrian. The text in the façade, is in honour to the Architect Marcus Agrippa. It became a church devoted to St. Mary the martyr. Inside the pantheon, a hole in the roof (oculus) to let the light into the building and to let out scared mole, it rain both inside and outside. It is a mausoleum because they buried here the Royal Family and Renaissance artist. This monument it locates in Piazza de la Rotonda of Rome. Trevi Fountain It's one of the most popular tourist attraction of Rome. It's 26,3 metres high and 49,51 metres wide. It was built from 1732 to 1762 by Nicola Salvi and Pietro Bracci. The design of this fountain is based on three architectural elements: a façade made of travertine; statues of carrara marble; a see reef also made of travertine. Behind the is the Polazzo Poli, it's a palace. It was built in Barroque period, for this reason, it's a Barroque fountain. This style consist to use exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail. The purpose to build this fountain is centuries ago, in roman period, there was a tradition that consist to build a fountain at the end of aqueducts. This fountain symbolizes the sea, where Neptune appeared with other elements who represent the sea. It's the largest fountain in the city and one of the most famous in the world. In my opinion, it's a beautiful fountain. I wish to visit this when we go to Italy in June. 6 Trevi Fountain The Pantheon

  The Roman Forum TheRoman Forum is a rectangular place in the centre of Rome. Near the forum there is the Coliseum. It was built in the 8th century BC.   The Colosseum The Colosseumis an elliptical amphitheatre in the Roman Forum. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in 70 AD, and was completed in 80 AD under his successor and heir Titus and was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re- enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The Colosseum have two parts: the exterior and the interior and the plant is elliptical and is 189 meters long, and 156 meters wide, with a base area of 6 acres (24,000 m2). The height of the outer wall is 48 meters. The perimeter originally measured 545 meters. The central arena is an oval 87 m long and 55 m wide, surrounded by a wall 5 m high. The Colosseum could hold, it is estimated, between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators. 2.2. VATICAN CITY The Vatican City is the smallest country in the world, but they are 5 important tourist attractions. These attraction are: 1. St Peter's Square: in the center the is an obelisk to commemorate the St Peter's crucification. 2. Vatican guards: they wear colorful uniform. 3. Vatican museum: there are important sculptures, paintings, graffitis, frecos, tapestries... This museums are very rich. 4. Gardens: these are very peaceful and beautiful. 5.   2.3. SIENA Siena isa medieval cityscape of Italy. The most important place is the Piazza del Campo. Piazza del Campo is medieval square and her shape is a circle. In this square, twice each year it celebrate the Palio di Siena. This, is a important horse race that consist in ten horses and riders wear medieval clothes and represent ten of seventeen contrades. They compete in honour of the Madonna of Provenzano, who has a church in Siena. 2.4. FLORENCE It's a important city of Italy at situates at the feet of the Apenine mountains. There are more buildings and monuments that tell histories of art, war and life. More important illustrious minds threaded their such as Da Vinci, Dante, Michaelangelo... The climate is more similar than our climate, 40ºC in summer and winter below 0ºC. You need 1 or 2 days to visit all Florence. On Mondays, you don't visit museum because are closed. You can visit Michaelangelo's David in La Galleria de la Academia and also you can visit the Duomo. It's a cathedral and the entrance it's free except the bell tower. Burnelleschi painted the Duomo and you need 10-15 minutes to reach this. 9 Piazza del Campo

  2.5. VENICE Venice isa city of Italy and it considerer one of the largest car free cities. Here we can discover water streets, canals and narrow streets. In all, there are 150 canals, 409 bridges and 117 islands. The most famous bridge is Ponte di Rialte and one of the most famous islands is Murano. This island is very famous for his glass making. In Venice, every year there are 14 million of tourists. Here there more tourist attraction such ass gondolas but one ride of 40 minutes is quite expensive. Another tourist place is St. Mark's square. In this square there is Palazzo Ducale. It was the residence of the Dukes. Inside, you can visit st. Mark's basilica and the relics of St. Mark. In this city you can buy different souvenirs, such ass masks, paintings, jewels... Also you can visit the different islands with vaporetti. 10 Canal Grandi
