Working with customers companies which are developing new product using Thin Film Vacuum
Technologies. Work with customers on Process and equipment needed and also locate companies whom
can help to begin development of new product through R&D. Once the R&D phase can be completed,
assist customers to determine varied costs and scheduling expectations so they may make decisions on
how to move forward. Once the R&D phase has been satisfied the next decision will be determined
through scheduling vendor ability and current product material availability and requirements. My job also
ensures that customers are receiving a fair price. Once initial Production starts,the decision is made to
allow the vendor to produce the product long term or if projections prove that the company should build
its own PVD,PCVD,vacuum technologies equipment. I also help in the equipment and materials
acquisition process,as well as design, build and startup activities. Directly involved in troubleshooting
any problems which may arise during the beginning of the program. Remain available for long term
support including employee training.
Global Solar Tucson, AZ. 2014 – Current Vacuum Technologies Equipment Specialist
Work with Engineering, Production and Quality groups to assure that all requirements for Equipment
maintenance, Operations and Testing of vacuum equipment are completed. Build idle equipment to bring
back online for Operations and Production of Thin Film sputtering. Develop Production SOP’s to record
and establish operational goals and tasks which include all requirements to meet company Product
Quality and delivery needs. Work directly with equipment operators to assist in developing Continuous
Improvement Process in daily operations. Set up and perform special testing to meet Engineering
development goals for sputtering process. Perform expert level maintenance and upgrades to Sputtering
Department equipment to maintain process flow and operational integrity of equipment.
Arizona Capacitors Inc. Tucson, AZ. 2010 – 2014 Quality Manager
Coordinate all Quality efforts in accordance with ISO 9001-2008 standards and QMS requirements also
obtained ISO Certification for company from 2013 - 2016. Assist in the creation and implementation of

Thin Film Engineer
Plan, design, build and operate PVD thin film magnetron sputtering machine which included multiple
magnetrons, plumbing and routing of gas,chiller lines, electrical wiring and all sub assemblies’.
Managed subcontractor efforts during build phase to incorporate touch screen technologies with PLC
controls for all systems i.e. power supplies, MFC’s,stepper drive motor and shutter control, turbo and dry
pumps, chiller system, Festo rack and various vacuum control valves. Machined and manufactured
mounts, brackets,fixtures and assorted subassemblies’ for adapting and mounting bearings and drivers
associated with feed troughs. Fabricate and retrofit equipment as required to adapt many styles of
substrates including rods and wafer. Research,develop and test thin film resistors and capacitors per
DOE requirements. Working with DLA on special resistor designed to meet specific applications when
wrapped inside of capacitors. Organize and manage sputtering department schedule and related
production activities as well as research and prepare company requirements for development of new
product including optical mirrors, ceramic.
Sigma Technologies: Tucson, AZ. 2005 – 2011 Process specialist/Quality Manager/Safety Rep
R&D manufacturing environment with Magnetron sputtering with load lock MRC equipment and
development of optical Al02 as well as severalmultilayer products. Roll to roll vacuum systems
including operation and maintenance of 1, 2 and 3 meter roll to roll high vacuum equipment i.e. vacuum
pumps and water chiller systems. Many moving parts which required continuous maintenance and repair.
Routed SS gas and water lines (tube bending) for new systems and repair of existing equipment.
Installation of new equipment and R&R for repair of subassemblies as required. Maintenance schedules
for all pumps and chiller systems adhered to for optimum equipment lifecycle. Develop SOP’s for
operator instructions involving magnetron sputtering systems and various roll to roll vacuum systems.
Work directly with scientists and engineering to meet customer driven deadlines on new products, and
existing programs. Preparation of manufacturing SOP’s and operator training programs. Responsible for
customer training of machine operations and process controls on 12 million euro roll to roll system for
large company located in Europe. Established and implemented Safety Program and Quality Assurance
program to meet industry standards.
Osmic, Inc.: Auburn Hills, MI. 1999 – 2005 Lead Technician
Worked closely with the science department to define and manufacture optics including all necessary
fixtures and apparatus for custom optics using machine shop tools and equipment. Upgrade vacuum
systems for optimum performance,including milling self-aligning chimney profiles, target shutters,
spinning apparatus and bearings, and various magnetic feed-through requirements. Vacuum system
operations to meet daily job requirements. Developed SOP’s to train employees in accordance with
procedural requirements and equipment operations. Prepare and adhere to maintenance schedules for
vacuum systems, including RF and DC power supplies, vacuum pumps, gas delivery system, water chiller
system and associated equipment. During my tenure at Osmic Inc., assembled a time study to display the
cost savings contributed; at that time, these savings were approximately 2000 hours per year,per
technician that essentially doubled production yield and increased product quality by tenfold.
Doug’s Auto: Gladwin, MI. 1995 – 1997 Service Manager
Directed daily activities of service technicians and interfaced with customers. Set up new accounts with
automotive parts suppliers, as well as procurement of required automotive parts. Assisted in the

Aircraft Ducting Associates: Dallas, TX. 1993 – 1995 Chief Final Inspector
Responsible for receiving, in process, final inspection and special testing of aircraft ducting systems.
Special testing included dye penetrant, pressure testing and magnified visual inspection for cracks and
other abnormalities. Preparation of manufacturing work order instructions for required repairs. Review
and maintenance of microfilm containing Manufacturing Overhaul Manuals (OHM).
PB/MK SuperConductor Supercollider: Dallas, TX. 1990-1993 Quality Engineer
Planned, scheduled, and performed internal and vendor audits. On-site materials and process verifications.
Worked closely with the U.S. D.O.E.,E.P.A. and other regulatory commissions to provide support and
necessary data to assist compliance verification. The U.S. Congress canceled the project due to lack of
foreign contribution.
LTV Missiles: Dallas, TX. 1984 - 1990 Quality Assurance Auditor
Internal promotion to this position during the phase out of the ASAT missile program due to extensive
background and knowledge in the area of manufacturing. The audit team planned, scheduled, and
performed internal and vendor audits on various missile and aircraft programs affiliated with LTV.
Reviewed and provided quality approval of manufacturing planning, process procedures and engineering
drawings.
Rocket Motor (Golden Hands) Technician
America's first Anti Satellite Missile program (ASAT). Worked directly with the Engineering Staff as a
Golden Hands Team Member on this program. Developed techniques and devise new hardware
applications in an R&D/Production environment. Performed most manufacturing processes within a class
III clean room. The program required laser, cryogenics, and cleanroom certifications, along with a secret
clearance. Because of the nature of this program (R&D) engineering drawings were incomplete and in
multiple levels of revision. During my tenure on this program, we developed 21 functional Anti Satellite
Missiles.

Special testing included dye penetrant, pressure testing and magnified visual inspection for cracks and other abnormalities. Preparation of manufacturing work order instructions for required repairs. Review and maintenance of microfilm containing Manufacturing Overhaul Manuals (OHM). PB/MK SuperConductor Supercollider: Dallas, TX. 1990-1993 Quality Engineer Planned, scheduled, and performed internal and vendor audits. On-site materials and process verifications. Worked closely with the U.S. D.O.E.,E.P.A. and other regulatory commissions to provide support and necessary data to assist compliance verification. The U.S. Congress canceled the project due to lack of foreign contribution. LTV Missiles: Dallas, TX. 1984 - 1990 Quality Assurance Auditor Internal promotion to this position during the phase out of the ASAT missile program due to extensive background and knowledge in the area of manufacturing. The audit team planned, scheduled, and performed internal and vendor audits on various missile and aircraft programs affiliated with LTV. Reviewed and provided quality approval of manufacturing planning, process procedures and engineering drawings. Rocket Motor (Golden Hands) Technician America's first Anti Satellite Missile program (ASAT). Worked directly with the Engineering Staff as a Golden Hands Team Member on this program. Developed techniques and devise new hardware applications in an R&D/Production environment. Performed most manufacturing processes within a class III clean room. The program required laser, cryogenics, and cleanroom certifications, along with a secret clearance. Because of the nature of this program (R&D) engineering drawings were incomplete and in multiple levels of revision. During my tenure on this program, we developed 21 functional Anti Satellite Missiles.
