Christ was appointed by God to be high priest, as referenced in scripture. During his life, he offered prayers and supplications with tears to God. Although he was God's son, he learned obedience through suffering. As the perfect high priest, Christ provides eternal salvation to all who obey him, having been designated by God according to the order of Melchizedek.
