To Whom It May Concern,
I have known Jeffrey for a number of years, having first met him as a fellow student at Grand
Valley State University in Michigan and a colleague at the university’s Tutoring Center. In
addition, before going on to continue my graduate studies at the University of Chicago I had the
pleasure of working with Jeffrey again, this time at the Michigan House of Representatives in
2014, where we both served first as interns and then as legislative assistants in our respective
representatives’ offices. As such, I am qualified to speak of the strengths he would bring to this
position from multiple perspectives.
Everyone who has worked with Jeffrey can speak to the enormous energy and enthusiasm he brings
to any job. When I first met him as a tutee at Grand Valley, it was apparent from day one that his
passion for public policy is more than just academic and theoretical. This became even more
apparent when I worked with him at the Michigan House. Jeffrey threw himself into his internship
in State Representative Collene Lamonte’s office from day one as if it was his full-time job, and
that determination showed when he was hired on as a full legislative assistant.
Jeffrey’s ability to balance his time between constituent and legislative duties in Lansing as well
as campaign work in the district, all while managing the campaign of his friend Brenda Sprader,
is a testament to his capacity to multitask and take on new duties as needed without losing sight of
the bigger picture. Having come from the eastern side of Michigan originally, Jeffrey worked
tirelessly to become a part of the western Michigan community he dedicated himself to serve. I
am confident that he would similarly become a valuable member of your team in Wisconsin.
