PRELIMINARY
ACTIVITIES
Prayer:
1. The teacher will lead the prayer.
“God, as we start this new day for new learning, we
ask for your guidance.
Give us the heart to love and be kind to one another. Please
watch over all our teachers, children, and families.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Greetings

Activity 1: (By Group)
1. The teacher will show a video about the climate
change through YouTube. Allow the student five
minutes to write freely in response to the video
presentation on the causes and effect of climate change
and the main factor why global temperature increase .
. Allow them to choose a partner with whom they will
read their output, discuss it, and create a collaborative
summary of their ideas.
Acivity 2: Crossword Puzzle
Let the students fill in the boxes with words that defines the pictures
to complete the puzzle
ANALYSIS The teacher will raise the following questions.
What did you know already about the Climate
Change?
What is the main factor why global temperature
increase?
ABSTRACTION
Let us begin our explanation on what is climate change.
Climate change is a change in the usual weather found in a
place. This could be a change in how much rain a place
usually gets in a year. Or it could be a change in a place's usual
temperature for a month or season. Climate change is also a
change in Earth's climate. This could be a change in Earth's
usual temperature. Or it could be a change in where rain and
snow usually fall on Earth. Weather can change in just a few
hours. Climate takes hundreds or even millions of years to
change.
What are the main factor in the increase of global
temperature?
Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other
air pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight
and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface.
Normally this radiation would escape into space, but these
pollutants, which can last for years to centuries in the
atmosphere, trap the heat and cause the planet to get hotter.
These heat-trapping pollutants—specifically carbon dioxide,
methane, nitrous oxide, water vapor, and synthetic fluorinated
gases—are known as greenhouse gases, and their impact is
called the greenhouse effect. Though natural cycles and
fluctuations have caused the earth’s climate to change several
times over the last 800,000 years, our current era of global
warming is directly attributable to human activity specifically
to our burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, gasoline, and
natural gas, which results in the greenhouse effect.
Relationship of carbon dioxide and temperature.
When the carbon dioxide concentration goes up, temperature
goes up. When the carbon dioxide concentration goes down,
temperature goes down.
APPLICATION The teacher will show pictures and let the students tell what the picture is
all about. The class will report by group.
What can you tell about this global phenomenon?
V. EVALUATION
