This document introduces a light level and gas monitoring system that consists of sensors to measure light, methane, butane, propane, LPG and smoke levels in a room. The system alerts users via SMS and buzzer if light levels are low or gas is detected. It uses a photo-resistor to measure light, an MQ-2 gas sensor, an LCD display, and a SIM800l GSM module connected to an Arduino Uno microcontroller. The system is less bulky than former systems and can provide real-time data on measured quantities via the microcontroller. It has advantages over analog and some digital systems in providing unambiguous data and a more functional design.
