MACHINE TRANSLATION
By 2012, and through a partnership with language
technology provider <tauyou>, the company had
already successfully integrated a customized TM/MT
workflow that allowed its production department to
obtain high quality post-edited technical translations
into ES, EN, IT, PT and FR. Its operating margins and
daily word output increased dramatically as a result.
Outstanding challenges included adding more
language combinations and streamlining project
management processes.

SUMMARY
INTEROPERABILITY
Nova has been working on implementing interoperable processes for the last 4
years as part of the company’s innovation efforts, strategizing, planning and
managing our structures and processes.
However, implementing interoperability in translation requires more than just
having common technical standards or merely adopting certain processes. The
challenges and obstacles that LSPs face in implementing Translation Services
Interoperability include:
1) Bureaucratic challenges
2) Ensuring compliance or enforcement of the adopted processes
3) Resource development
4) Using metrics to measure the success in translation interoperability
In addition, our main message is that we need to work with open systems, that can
connect/integrate with our client and provider systems to reduce laborious export,
import, change format , change tool, change system type of tasks which slow down
and generate loss of information for all parties.
