Manual of Panasonic Fax Machine 
1. Important information 
1.1 Important safety instructions. 
To avoid risk of electrical shock, fire, damage or injury, please follow 
the warnings and cautions below: 
1. Read and understand all instructions. 
2. Follow all warnings and cautions that are on this unit. 
3. Unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleansing. Do not use 
liquids or cleaner sprays. 
4. Do not use the unit near water, such as bathtub, wash basin, 
kitchen sink, etc. 
5. Place the unit on the stable surface. If the unit falls, it might be 
damaged or cause injury.
6. Do not cover vents and openings on the unit to avoid overheating. 
Never place the unit near heaters or in a place where proper 
ventilation is not provided. 
7. Use only the power source marked on the unit. If you are not sure 
the type of your power supply, please consult your dealer or local 
authorities. 
8. For safety, this unit is equipped with a three-pin plug. If you do not 
have this type of plug, please find it and do not destroy this safety 
feature. 
9. Do not place any objects on the power cord. Install the unit where 
no one walks past or trip on the cord. 
10. Do not plug the unit in overloaded power outlet on the wall and 
extension cord. It can result in the risk of fire or electric shock. 
11. Do not put any object into gaps of the unit because this may 
result in risk of fire or electric shock. 
12. To increase the risk of electric shock, do not take the components 
of the unit off. Take the unit to an authorized service center when 
the unit has a problem. Opening or removing the unit cover may 
result in risk of fire or electric shock. 
13. Unplug this unit from the power outlet and contact an 
authorized service center when the following conditions occur: 
a. The power cord is damaged or frayed. 
b. Liquid has spilled on the unit. 
c. The unit has soaked with rain or water.
d. The unit does not work normally. Adjust only controls stated 
in the manual or report to authorized service center. 
e. The unit has fallen or has been damaged. 
f. The unit shows that it does not work as usual. 
14. During thunderstorms, avoid using telephones except wireless 
type because it might be a risk of an electric shock from 
lightning. 
15. Do not use the fax to report a gas leak when in the area of the 
leak. 
Follow the instructions 
below 
CAUTION: 
Installation 
· Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm. 
· Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is 
specifically designed for wet locations. 
· Never touch the telephone line or terminals that are not wrap by 
the insulation unless the telephone line are disconnected at the 
network surface. 
· Be careful when installing or modifying telephone lines. 
WARNING:
· Do not touch the plug with wet hands because it might cause an 
electric shock. 
· Completely insert the AC adaptor/ power plug into the power 
outlet. Unless you fail to do so, it may be cause of electric shock 
and/or resulting in a fire. 
· Remove any dust from AC adapter/ power plug by pulling it from 
the power outlet and wiping with dry cloth. Accumulated dust may 
cause an insulation defeat from moisture, etc. resulting in a fire. 
· Do not spill liquids (detergents, cleaners, etc.) onto the telephone 
line plug, or make it wet, immediately pull it from the telephone 
wall jack, and do not use it immediately. 
· To prevent the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not install this 
unit in the area of rain or moisture. 
· Immediately unplug the unit from power outlet if it emits smoke, 
an abnormal smell or makes unusual noise. These conditions can 
cause fire or an electric shock. Make sure that there is no smoke 
from the unit and contact an authorized service center. 
2. Preparation 
2.1 Date and time 
Set the date and time.
1. Press [MENU] 
2. Press [] or [] repeatedly until the unit displays the message 
following. 
3. Press [SET] 
4. Enter the current date/month/year by selecting 2 digits of each. 
Example: 10 August, 2008 
Press [1] 
[0][0][8][0][8] 
5. Press [SET] 
6. Press [MENU] 
To correct a mistake 
Press 
[] or 
[] to 
move 
the 
cursor 
to the incorrect number, and make the correction.
2.2 Your logo 
Your logo will be printed on the top of each page sent from your unit. It 
can be your name or the name of your company. 
1. Press [MENU] 
2. Press [] or [] repeatedly until the unit displays the message 
following. 
3. Press [SET] 
4. Enter your logo, up to 30 characters. See the following character 
table for details. 
5. Press [SET] 
6.

To select characters with the dial keypad

1. Press [] or [] to move the cursor to the incorrect character. 
2. Press [STOP]. 
• To erase all characters, press and hold [STOP] 
3. Enter the correct character. 
2.3 Your fax number 
Your fax number will be printed on the top of each page sent from your 
unit.
1. Press [MENU] 
2. Press [] or [] repeatedly until display the message following. 
3. Press 
[SET] 
4. Enter your logo, up to 20 characters. See the following character 
table for details. 
5. Press [SET] 
• The next feature will be displayed. 
6. Press [MENU] 
To correct a mistake 
1. Press [] or [] to move the cursor to the incorrect number. 
2. Press [STOP]. 
• To erase all numbers, press and hold [STOP] 
3. Enter the correct number.
3. Telephone 
3.1 Phonebook 
The phonebook will allows you to make calls without dial manually. You 
can store 100 telephone numbers and names to the phonebook. 
3.1.1 Storing phonebook items 
1. Press [MENU] repeatedly until the unit displays the message 
“PHONEBOOK SET”. 
2. Press [*] 
3. Press [] 
• The display shows the number of available items in the phonebook 
briefly. 
4. Enter the name, up to 16 characters (See the table for instructions) 
5. Press [SET] 
6. Enter the telephone number, up to 24 digits. 
7. Press [SET] 
• To program other items, repeat steps 4 to 7. 
8. Press [MENU] 
3.1.2 Making a call using the phonebook
Before using this feature, store the desired names and the telephone 
number in the phonebook. 
1. Press [] 
2. Press [+] or [-] repeatedly until the unit displays desired names. 
3. Lift the handset or press [DIGITAL SP-PHONE] 
3.2 One-touch dial feature 
For rapid access to frequently dialed numbers, the unit provides the one-touch 
dial feature (10 items). 
3.2.1 Storing one-touch dial items 
1. Press [MENU] repeatedly until the unit displays the message 
“PHONEBOOK SET”. 
2. Press [*] 
3. Select only one desired station key. 
• For station 1-5: 
Press one of the station keys. 
• For station 6-10: 
Press [LOWER], and then press one of the station keys. 
4. Enter the name, up to 16 characters (See the table for instructions) 
5. Press [SET] 
6. Enter the telephone number, up to 24 digits. 
7. Press [SET]
• To program other items, repeat steps 3 to 7. 
8. Press [STOP]
