The average target audience for a thriller is normally around 15+. However there are 12 rated films that are also thrillers. Target Audience Our film is going to be a 15 as it contains adult themes which are inappropriate for children such as gun usage, kidnapping and violence.
Harry brown:£7,300,000 Law Abiding Citizen: $40,000,000 Here are a few budgets of other popular thrillers.. Signs:$72,000,000 Butterfly effect:$13,000,000 High priced thrillers Medium priced thrillers Inception:$160,000,000 The Dark night: $250,000,000 Snatch:£6,000,000 Layer cake:£4,000,000 For our film :£6,500,000 Budget
Production A possible production company for our film is ‘Film4 productions’. This is because ‘Film4 productions’ mainly produce low to medium budget films and this is what we are aiming for. Film4 have produced films such as: Attack The Block The Inbetweeners Movie Wuthering Heights
Opening In the beginning the audience is expected to see a man in a trunk and we have many different ideas in how the text at the beginning is displayed such as in a puff of smoke. The man who is put in the trunk is a man named Steve O’Brian. He was put there by a man called Mark Hunter who were originally friends and will later on be discovered that they become enemies. At a very fast tempo- that will include a great deal of action. This is done to excite the audience as they won’t know what is going to happen next and adds to the suspense.
Our opening is going to be in the form of a flash back. It will take the audience back a year when Steve O’Brian and Mark Hunter where friends and were dual hit men together and did jobs for people. the audience discovers that it was not Steve’s ambition to be a hit man and later realises he may die so wanted to get out which is the reason he ends up in a trunk as he wouldn’t do a specific job and is warned he would be killed if he didn’t do it. We decided to do a flash back so that it can gain the trust of the audience and allow them to become more emotionally involved. It also adds a sense of mystery to the film and will get the audience on the edge of there seats making them want to find out what happened in the last year of his life to get him involved in this action.
