This document discusses adaptive spatial signal processing (ASSP) under different levels of a priori uncertainty. It describes four levels of a priori uncertainty about signal and noise properties: complete uncertainty, parametric uncertainty, generalized parametric uncertainty, and a priori certainty. ASSP algorithms can be divided into parametric and nonparametric types based on their use of a priori signal structure data. Parametric algorithms are further divided based on the structure of a priori data used: scalar, vector, or matrix. The document analyzes how the different levels of a priori uncertainty affect the application of these various ASSP algorithm types.
