Issues raised about repositories The technical process and time to upload/download to a repository needs to be made much simpler and easier The metadata process needs to be simplified/understandable The user does not want to do duplicate uploading to different places The jargon language used to describe the repository and the process maybe an issue Users would share if it was quicker and easier Users are positive about sharing and can see the benefits of repositories – sharing already happens Issues of quality, ownership and copyright need to be addressed Issues of fair giving and receiving resources Moodle already familiar – can it work like this? Can we search a range of other repositories from one place Can we upload multiple files as a collection
- 4. What is a repository? There are many different purposes and uses of a repository system. The best definition we can find that best represents MrCute: A system used to store digital materials and/or collections to disseminate/share with others. An example you may know: You could say that www.youtube.com is a type of repository
- 5. MrCute Version 2: Just to clarify... NO, you don't need to learn a new system NO, Moodle won't be changing NO, Its not complicated
- 6. Improvements – Language example The word repository did not mean anything to all users, so modules we renamed to suggest use
- 7. Improvements – Interface example Instead of one module with a range of confusing buttons. MrCute2 was broken down into two simplified modules - one for find , one for upload
- 8. How will it help you? Upload a file once and then re-use it in as many courses as you want - saving duplication! Share a file with a colleague through Moodle - if you update it, theirs can too! Create a collection of materials (selection of various files and web links) in seconds, rather than hours of banging your head on a desk. If you know how to search Google and/or attach an email - the functionality is based on this simplicity! If we haven’t resolved everything this time – there can always be a MrCute3
