RESEARCH
I Researched by listening to a lot of songs and picking
out the one I could see a ‘vision’ for in my head for the
music video, Dark Red by Steve Lacy was the one I picked
because I felt that it would be the most fun and easiest
to complete as I like the song and wouldn’t get sick of
listening to it over and over again and it’s a song I could
make up a story for in my head.
PLANNING
With my planning I made a story board and a shot
list/editing mixed thing (it tells me what to do in my edit
aswell)
TIME MANAGEMENT
With my Time management it was very complicated as
lots of unexpected things happened – half term, my
actors couldn’t come in at some points, free period
confusion and more. It was all very rushed which wasn’t
my plan of action towards this assignment. All in all it
was all very difficult to keep to my time schedule and I
found myself drifting off schedule
TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
I used my Phone instead of a Camera because I found it easier and
less awkward to use as I know my way around my phone better than
I know my way around a camera. Although I thought this would be
easier it really impacted the professionalism on my shots as the
quality was lower and the lighting could have been better in some
shots
TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
With my editing it was quite simplistic as I cut some clips to
the beat and others just to go with the song, at the start of
my edit I did add a slow-motion effect onto my clip and I also
added fade outs throughout the edit.
AESTHETIC QUALITIES
The aesthetic of my edit was like a high school break up type,
where the two actors only talk throughout texting on messages
(texting? Its very one sided) it was very important for me at the
end that they meet up face to face rather than over text. The
overall aesthetic is Highschool-Breakup-pleasedontleaveme-
leavemealone-texting trope
AUDIENCE APPEAL
My target audience was college students and I think ive
managed to gather the correct audience with my edit
