The Student
I am Princess Jazminne
O. Lascano, 18 years old.
A 3rd year student taking
up Bachelor of
Secondary Education
Major in Mathematics at
Cavite State University
Indang, Cavite.
The Student
This portfolio summarizes
my track of development
through the subject.
EDUCATIONAL
IN A NUT SHELL
This is concerned with “Integrating
Technology into Teaching and Learning”. This
is focused on introducing, reinforcing,
supplementing and extending the knowledge
and skills to learners so that they can become
exemplary users of educational technology.
The course is primary at enhancing teaching-
and-learning through technology integration.
Information Technology
 is the application of computer
and telecommunications
equipment to restore, retrieve,
transmit and manipulate data.
 is the use of computer and
software to manage
information
Importance of IT in Education
 It connects us and brings
what we do together then
grow it.
 It enables smarter feedback.
 It replaces the old ways
with better ways.
Information and Communication
Technology
• is an umbrella term that includes any
communication device or application,
encompassing: radio, television, cellular
phones, computer and network hardware and
software, satellite systems and so on
• Instructional Media- consist of audio visual
aids that served to enhance and enrich the
teaching-learning process.
• Educational Communication Media-
comprise the media of communication to
audiences including learners using the film,
radio, television or satellite means of
communication.
Computer's Capabilities.
Based on the Constructivism and Social
Constructivism, the teacher can employ the
computer as a/an:
As an information tool
A communication tool
A constructive tool
As co-constructive tool
A situating tool
The Traditional Classroom
• Classrooms are usually
arranged with neat columns
and rows of student chairs,
while the teacher stands in
front of the classroom or
sits behind his/her desk.
• Teacher centered
• After so many minutes in
lesson presentation and
class management, students
can get restless and fidgety.
Student-centered Learning
• The classroom is arranged in a manner
that is easy for students to work together
in pairs or groups and also easy for the
teacher to move around to facilitate
conversations among student groups.
• The classroom environment is warm,
open, and encourages students to
participate.
• Economy in administration and
instruction schools in these developed
economies have also adopted the support
of ICTs
• Self-awareness in learning process
Cooperative Learning and the
Computer
When students work with
computers in groups, they cluster
and internet with each other for
advice and mutual help. And given
the option to work individually or
in a group, the students generally
wish to work together in
computer-based and non-
computer-based activities.
Therefore researchers agree that
the computer is a fairly natural
learning vehicle for cooperative, at
times called promotive learning.
Software
• The program or system that tells what the
computer machine should do.
• It includes computer programs, libraries and
their associated documentation
Kinds of Software
Application Software Systems Software
commands the particular task or solves a
particular problem
directly operate the computer hardware
Systems Software
directly operate
the computer hardware
Internet
The internet, also simply called
the Net, is the largest and far-
flung network system-of-all-
system.
It connects millions of
computers together globally,
forming a network in which
any computer can
communicate with any other
computer as long as they are
both connected to the Internet.
Educational Uses of Internet
Using Multimedia
Online Learning
Easy Contact
School/College Projects
Encyclopedia
Affordable Knowledge
Easy Education System
No Age Bracket for
Education
Learning Through Ed Tech 2
“Teacher is like a bridge that falls after the
students have crossed.”
We are aware that teachers are giving all their
efforts just to let their students gain the
knowledge they deserve. As I have learned in
Edtc 2, technologies can help in motivating
students to learn. Proper usage of it must be
strictly observed so that it can surely give added
information, motivation as well as fun during
discussions.
Learning Through Ed Tech 2
Every medias have their uses. So we should be
aware on features it can give to us. Different
guidelines, advantages and disadvantages can
be our guide in discriminating which one
should we use. Yes, it can make our lives
easier but it doesn’t necessary mean that we
can use it in anyway that we want. Especially
as a future educator of the 21st century
learners, we must be a keen observer.
Learning Through Ed Tech 2
We must not only focus on certain things to
consider In choosing the appropriate media to be
used instead we must look in all angles. We must
make sure that our students will surely learn,
will gain the knowledge they need to know and
sustain their focus in every thing we are doing
during classes. Literally, teaching is somehow
hard. But with the help of this subject, we are
guided on things that we must know to improve
our teaching strategy.
Learning Through Ed Tech 2
There’s no such thing as best educational media to
be used but it is our responsibility as a teacher to
give our best in choosing the best kind of media
considering our learning objectives. Educational
Technology subject offers different things, gives
information and ideas that will be surely a big
help for a future educator like me. We must only
know what’s really the essence of this and bear
in mind that it is for our students. We are their
second parent so it’s just to let them give what
they really deserve.
The Student After Ed tech
My portfolio is a collection of my work that
exhibits my efforts, progress, and
achievements in educational technology. This
portfolio includes a summary of lessons about
Ed Tech that will surely help not only the
students but also the educators. As a future a
educator, learnings in Ed Tech will surely be
one of my guidelines in choosing
appropriately which technology will surely fit
in my every discussions.
