My Slovenia
LJUBLJANA
LJUBLJANA, the capital, with its 276,000 inhabitants,
maintains the friendliness of a small town, and at the
same time possesses all the characteristics of a
metropolis.
Here, at the meeting point of the cultures of the east and
the west, the old interlaces in harmony with the new . In
Ljubljana the remainders of all the five milleniums of its
history are preserved, among these is the legacy of the
Roman town of EMONA and the Old Town with its
medieval castle, Reneissance and Baroque facades,
ornamented portals and uneven roofs.
My Slovenia
PORTOROŽ

     PORTOROŽ, a tourist town which
boasts the longest tourist tradition in
Slovenia It is a town visited by tourists
from all over Europe and other
countries as well. It is an internationally
     known HOLIDAY CENTRE and
     climatic health seaside resort.
PIRAN
PIRAN is an ancient Mediterranean
town situated at the cape of the Piran
peninsula. The town is actually a large
museum with a MEDIEVAL
ARCHITECTURE and a rich culture
heritage. Narrow streets and tight
houses are the special charm of the
town.
KOPER

KOPER is the main Slovenian port and
the entrance to the inland of the Central
Europe. It is located on the "top" of
ISTRIA. Koper was an island till the
19th century. Later the town and the
   island were connected with the
mainland. Old town centre boasts with
   the rich architecture and cultural
   monuments.
My Slovenia
POSTOJNSKA JAMA More than 26 million people from
all over the world have admired the
                  stalagmites and the stalactites of
                  the POSTOJNSKA JAMA in 175
                  years of organised tourism.
                  However, ancient signatures in the
                  entrance passages prove that the
cave was first visited in the 13th
                  century.
ŠKOCJANSKE JAME

                  Because of their extraordinary
                  significance for the world's natural
                  heritage, in 1986 the ŠKOCJAN
                  CAVES were included in UNESCO's
world heritage list. They were listed
as a first underground wetland in the
                  world in 1999 representing Ramsar
                  wetlands of international importance.
My Slovenia

in Europe. The park lies in the vicinity
of high stony mountains including

Slovenia has more than fifteen natural
thermal and climatic HEALTH
RESORTS, as well as treatment resorts
for various health problems. In all of
Slovenia's thermal health resorts,
programs for beauty and relaxation
have been developed in addition to the
classical SPA SERVICES. The growing
reputation of these health resorts over
the last few years has encouraged others
to study Slovenia's natural assets more
intensively
COUNTRYSIDE Slovenia's attentive politics towards
environment gave birth to a florid
              growth of “sustainable tourism”
              FARMS all around the territory.
Holidays in the countryside, at one of

tourist farms offer a close contact with
              NATURE and people, with their
              culture, wisdom, customs, and habits.
Holidays at a tourist farm are also an
