WHAT IS A NATIONAL SPATIAL DATA INFRASTRUCTURE (NSDI)?
SDI is a framework of policies, institutional
arrangements, technologies, data and people
that enables sharing and effective usage of
geographic information.
Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) allows
geographic information to be combined
from a variety of sources to a variety of
disciplines, facilitating decision-making
processes at all levels.
WHAT ARE THE SOCIAL BENEFITS?
 Data as a means for dialogue
 Data and transparency
 Better regulations
 Digital transformation/Digital living
 Governments play an important (new)
role
WHAT SDI INCLUDES?WHY SDI IS IMPORTANT?

7th Capitalization Meeting
EU Land Governance Programme
AN EASY ACCESS TO A RELIABLE DATA WHERE AND WHEN NEEDED
IS CRITICAL TO RESPOND TO THE TODAY’S CHALLENGES!
WHERE THE MOST PEOPLE ARE AT THE TIME OF
DISASTER?
WHERE TO RESETTLE THE DISPLACED PEOPLE?
WHAT ARE THE DAMAGES?
WHO OWNS WHAT?
WHAT AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION?
WHY NSDI IS RELEVANT TO LAND TENURE?
MOST OF TODAY’S CHALLENGES HAVE CLEAR TENURE DIMENSIONS
