This paper discusses the enhancement of wireless sensor networks (WSN) performance through optimized sensor placement and evaluates various methodologies for effective placement. By employing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), the proposed strategies aim to minimize sensor quantities while improving accuracy and overall network functionality. The results demonstrate a 21.11% improvement in WSN performance with a 26.09% reduction in the number of additional sensors needed, highlighting the efficiency of the proposed approach.
