BOOGIE DOWN TO WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM
Fundraising Nature with a Run
FORT WORTH – May 9, 2015. The 23rd
Annual Buffalo Boogie will consist of a 5K, 1-
Mile Fun Run/Walk and 5K Chip-Time Run (on a USATF-certified course). Registration
starts March 1 and ends May 8. Register before May 3rd
for $20.00. The event is family
and dog friendly. All ages are welcome,along with strollers and dogs on leashes.
Rob Denkhaus, FWNC&R herd manager said, “The Bison are a large part of our
interpretive program where the herd acts as a living visual aid for people to learn about
animal adaptations” The Buffalo Boogie is a great family-oriented event that helps
maintain The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge.

The shout of the gun to run will sound at 8:30 a.m. that day. If you are still not registered
before the day of the event, don’t stress we will have on-site registration at 7:00 a.m.
before the race. There event features numerous activities before, during and after the race
for both runners and observers Breakfast included with race registration. Other perks
include balloons for kids, face paintings, and a festival area featuring exhibitors, vendors,
live music and door prizes along with metals.
Volunteers are needed and will receive perks as a thank you. For more information on

About Friends ofthe Fort Worth Nature Center
Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center, supports the Fort Worth Nature Center &
Refuge. If you would like to personally sponsor, the event, you can for $10,000.00. Each
year, FONC raises about $20,000.00 through the Buffalo Boogie to help maintain the
Nature Center & Refuge and continue to feed the Buffalo. Furthermore, the funds will
contribute to the veterinary services for all ambassador animals and wildlife habitats.
About us Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge
Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is a 3,600 acre park comprised of ecosystems that
include marsh, forest, and flat-land. Its mission is to preserve, protect and conserve in
perpetuity the land included in the facility. The FWNC&R is 3,621 acres consisting of
marsh, forest, and flat land. The facility is located only a mile from downtown Fort
Worth, off confederate road. The Center features about 40 miles of hiking trails. The
organization offers many classes,camps, and activities year-round. If you are interested
