Night out in bilbao

Night out in Bilbao at Fever: Experience of a Student of Spanish Whether you’re staying in Bilbao for just a few days, or for longer, it is worth experiencing some of the nightlife that this vibrant city has to offer. Thursday night is a good night to go out as it is student night in Bilbao, and there are events designed specifically for international students. These ‘Erasmus parties’ are held every Thursday and usually in a different club every week. Recently they have been held in Flash and Loft, and other clubs located around the city centre. The events are great if you are looking to meet like minded people, and the atmosphere is lively and the people friendly. However, perhaps you are looking for something a little bit different, and the chance to practice your rapidly improving Spanish on some natives…. Fever is a club based on the outskirts of Bilbao, a short metro ride away from the centre to Bolueta, and then only 5 minutes walk to the club. I have to admit that getting to the club I was a bit dubious, as it seemed to be located in the middle of nowhere, on a trading estate. However after stopping quickly to ask the helpful police stationed outside the metro for directions, we followed the hoards of people down a dark street to arrive outside Fever. The entry fee was 12 Euros on Saturday night, which might seem expensive, but this did include two free drinks. What really appealed to me about this club was the variety; there really is something for everyone. As you go in, the first room is chart music and cheesy pop, then carrying on through is the main room, which is by the far the most popular, playing rock and indie. A sultry room off to the side plays RnB and reggae, and if techno is your thing, there’s the upper level. Overall we all had a great time at the club, and after trying out all the rooms, my favourite was definitely the main room, as the music was easy to dance to. I’ll definitely be going back!
