OSINT involves gathering publicly available information from the internet for intelligence purposes. It targets individuals, groups, regions, organizations and topics. The OSINT process involves identifying sources, mining and harvesting data, processing it, and producing a final result. The main objectives of OSINT are to create a smart system that enables entities to know what public information about them is online and how to eradicate it, in order to reduce risks of attacks. OSINT can be used from both offensive and defensive security perspectives.
