This document presents an offline optical character recognition (OCR) system specifically designed for the Urdu language in Naskh font, utilizing a pattern matching technique. The system addresses challenges posed by the cursive nature of Urdu, achieving a recognition accuracy of 89% at a rate of 15 characters per second. The proposed OCR aims to digitize Urdu literature, facilitating the transition from physical to electronic libraries and reducing reliance on paper-based records.
