8. Cloud Service Models:
Software as a Service (SAAS): vendors host the applications, making them available
to users via the internet. With SaaS, businesses don't have to install or download
any software to their existing IT infrastructures. SaaS ensures that users are always
running the most up-to-date versions of the software. It handles maintenance and
support. SaaS products offer both consumers and businesses cloud-based tools and
applications for everyday use
Public Cloud: Services are available to general Public. One instance of an application
is shared by multiple organizations.
Private Cloud: Services are available internally, behind a firewall and are hosted over
the internet by Oracle or Oracle Business Partners.
Platform as a Service (PAAS) : offers developers a platform for software
development & deployment over the internet, enabling them to access up-to-date
tools. PaaS delivers a framework that developers can use to create customized
applications. The organization or the PaaS cloud vendor manage the servers,
storage and networking, while the developers manage the applications. PaaS
products allow businesses and developers to host, build, and deploy consumer-
facing apps.
9. Cloud Service Models:
Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS): is used by companies that don't want to maintain
their own on-premises data centers. The IaaS cloud vendor hosts the infrastructure
components that typically exist in an on-premises data center, including servers,
storage, networking hardware, as well as the hypervisor or virtualization layer. IaaS
products allow organizations to manage their business resources such as their
network, servers, and data storage on the cloud.
On-Premise: Customer purchases the product licenses and is responsible for HR
software, Infrastructure installation, configuration and management.
11. Types of Companies:
Service Provider/Vendor: who is selling the product Eg: Oracle, Workday, SAP
Client/Customer: Company who is purchasing the product Eg: Reliance Industries
Consulting Companies: who is implementing the product Eg: Deloitte, EY
