Orientalism is not a concept,
because concept may be
lifeless. However, orientalism
is an animated thing and it
has a strong spirit that is
dominating, and suppressing
the people of the East.
It is being practiced from the
beginning of the Nineteenth
century until now.
Second Aspects of OrientalsimEdward Said
insisted on the
serious study of the
Occident about the
culture, history, and
ideas of Orient.
Orientalism is not
an imagination but a
theory or belief
created by the
Occident.
The Western

with the Orient and

According to Batista Vigo, ‘Orient’
and ‘orintalism’ are man-made and
it extends geography. Said does
not agree with him. Said showed
some logic to defend himself or his
theory by saying that Orient is not
an imagination between the
hegemony or the relationship of
Orient and Occident.
It is all above the imagination. He
said that political elements may
find in his essay but there is no
political intention.
Orientalism as an

sociologist, historian, or philologist is an
Those who translate the books of orient are also known
as orientalist. The orientalist what does is called
orientalism.
During the mid-19th century, "oriental studies" was
established as an academic discipline. The occident
taught the young westerners about Orient so that they
can dominate and rule all over the country.
Perspectives of Occident to the Orient
The perspective of the Orient is negative
towards the orient. They always deal with the
orient as superior to them. They tried to
expand their empire of domination by
knowing everything about the Orient. There
are three processes the way the occident
dominated the Middle East as the orient.
First Perspective
American or Western
people has an idea
about the popular
history of anti-Arab
and anti-Islamic
prejudice that has
given the westerns a
hint to govern on
them.
Victor Mary Hugo
Victor Mary Hugo was a
French poet, novelist,
dramatist of the Romantic
Movement. He was born on
26 February in 1802.
He was considered one of
the greatest and best-
known French writers. He
died on 22 May in 1885.
Karl Marx
Karl Marx was a famous
German philosopher and
political leader. Karl
Marx was born on May
5, 1818, in German.
He is known as the
founder of communism.
He died on March 14,
in 1883.
Michel Foucault, in full , Paul
Michel Foucault was a French
philosopher, historian and social
theorist. He was born on October
15, 1926.
He was one of the most influential
and controversial scholars of the
post-World War II period. He was
died June 25, 1984, in Paris.
Conclusion:
In a few words, Oreintalsim is a political and cultural
fact. The term “Orientalism” is a popular genre
represents the western outlook or views towards the
orient.
He referred several prominent linguist, philosophers,
thinkers and politicians to enrich his critical text by
contradicting to some extent. By defending his
theory, he gives a clear overview on Orientalism that
is based on a pure nonpolitical ideology.
Therefore, it can be said that it is a brief reflection
of ‘Introduction to Orientalism” in the light of Said’s
concept.
