Patient Centric Care
The Key to Accountable Care
Achieving patient-centric care.
Not a new idea, but a crucial one that needs encouragement.
Not just limited to widespread use of technology.
Goes beyond communicating with the patients.
The Quest for Quality Healthcare
The road to quality health care goes through patient-centric
care. Hospitals and physicians have always strived to deliver
flawless services to patients, and this practice is now more vital
than ever.
1. A promise of better health outcomes.
2. Increasing knowledge and skills of people
3. Making patients a part of decision-making
process
4. A joint effort: by patients, their families and
providers to achieve better health outcomes.
What Patient-Centric Care Actually Is?
An essential strategy, that needs to be incorporated by
providers and caregivers alike, to realize the goal of
value-based care.
Why the Shift?
1. Centered around patient experience
Patients wish to be involved with the matters of
their care. As a result of ACA, patient experience is
directly associated with reimbursements for health
care providers.
2. Advocating Population Health
With the aim to provide value-based care, the health
care providers are now striving towards patient-
centric care.
3. Reducing Cost
With patient-centric care, the goal of cost-effective
care along with efficient delivery of health care
services will be realized.
Set a benchmark for your organization
Engagement starts at the basic level: interact with the patient

Technological Advancements in the Field
With the growth in mobile health, patients are now
able to book and schedule their appointments, view
their lab and test results, access their health records
and interact with their providers.
Patient Portals
84% of Americans said their doctors have a patient
portal from where they could fix appointments and
catch a look at their provider’s opinions, facilitating
the care-giving process.
Telehealth
With new breakthroughs in technology, we have
devices and gears that people are using as an
everyday item.
Providing healthcare services through telehealth has
received a positive response from patients and
providers alike. 76% of the patients with children
