A cross-sectional study in Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan, found that only 25% of mothers initiated breastfeeding within the first hour after birth, while exclusive breastfeeding was reported by only 12%. The research indicated significant associations between breastfeeding knowledge and practices, as well as various socio-demographic factors impacting initiation and duration. There is a strong need for improved breastfeeding practices through targeted behavioral change communication.
