 HUNGS FORMULA

 Inoue balloon is a dumbbell-shaped balloon that
self-positions itself in the mitral valve because of its
unique physical properties and mode of inflation.
 It has two latex layers with a nylon mesh in
between, giving the balloon its unique shape and
inflation characteristics.
 the shaft of the balloon is a 12F coaxial double-
lumen catheter made up of pvc

 There are two small holes in the balloon that allow slow
seepage of contrast in case of deflation failure.
 The un inflated, unstreched balloon is 25 mm in length
and it inflates in three sequential stages because of the
specially designed synthetic mesh in the balloon.
 The distal end of the balloon inflates first, followed by
the proximal half, with a constriction remaining in the
middle to facilitate positioning across the mitral valve.
 Finally, at full inflation, the constriction disappears and
the balloon assumes a more barrel-like shape with a
maximal length of 45 mm.
