The paper presents a control technique for a variable speed wind turbine system using a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), employing a direct power control (DPC) strategy combined with a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm. The modeling and simulation using MATLAB/Simulink demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed approach in optimizing the performance of power transfer between the DFIG and the grid. Key contributions include enhancements in power control strategies and the assessment of DFIG response to variable wind conditions.
