This document evaluates the performance of four end-to-end TCP congestion control mechanisms (TCP Westwood, Hybla, Highspeed, and Newreno) over 4G LTE networks using the ns-3 simulator. The study compares these mechanisms based on throughput, latency, and fairness, revealing that TCP Highspeed achieved the highest throughput, while TCP Westwood had the lowest latency but displayed unfair behavior among traffic flows. The research aims to develop solutions to enhance TCP performance over wireless links, addressing the limitations of traditional TCP mechanisms.
